Track Tuesday started at 7:30 AM (new time) with the biggest turnout of the year where our group was joined by FMTC legacy member and one of the best female runners out of Lancaster County – Vicki Boyer (Red Rose winner – 29:11) and now mom to 5 children – who was in from Oregon to visit her family – and showed she still has some serious speed while she is approaching age 50 in September. We completed the 200/300/400 – 1 mile workout as did a large contingent of the P.M. crew based on STRAVA reviews. Great to see some of our runners back including Team Pearson, Glenn Mohler, and Dan Pick.
Another great Summer WOW at Cartel – with thanks to Tracy my life/running partner who does much for FMTC but usually behind the scenes – and to all of you who were able to make it over and support – strengthen the camaraderie within our club. We had 11/12 Pizzas eaten as well as 3 dozen cookies, one watermelon, pretzels, and a few peanut M&Ms. I am not sure how many Cartel beers were consumed but this was a good PBR break without a doubt. Jonas appropriately enjoyed an “Amish Mug Club Ale” and I enjoyed “Respect Your Elders” – perhaps a tribute to group 3. Chris our bartender did an excellent job of keeping the waiting time to a minimum and Tracy assisted with collecting the empty glasses. Lastly a sad farewell to Souhail (Boston 2:36 !) who will be relocating to Philadelphia soon – but promises to stop by and wear the club singlet whenever he is in town.
If you plan on racing at our “Night of Miles” night on July 14th – Please sign up so we can start to get an idea of how many runners we will have. Online or paper applications (mailed) are ok or even a drop-off at my house. Please sign BOTH SIDES of the application and non-FMTC runners are Invited. We will send out a volunteer sign-up list closer to the event. Also, consider being a pacer but you still must sign up and will be assigned a bib number (Otis for Jay?)
