F and M Track Club is Lancaster Pennsylvania’s fastest, most competitive running club. That said, people of all ages and abilities levels are welcome given you have a love for running, the work ethic to improve, and a friendly personality.
Our club seeks to practice and promote the social benefits of running and training to support one another, reach our running goals, develop meaningful relationships, and make a positive impact in the greater community.
We meet Tuesdays at the Franklin & Marshall College outdoor track at 6:00 pm for group track workouts. Club President, Jeff Kirchner, shares workout options ahead of time (Monday afternoons) via email. Participants are expected to be done with warm-ups and ready to start the workout promptly at 6:00 pm. Group cool down, club announcements, and general socializing follow the track workouts. We also organize casual Saturday morning runs, starting from the F&M outdoor track at 7:00 am.
Members are expected to train year-round and race on roads, tracks, and/or trails—focusing primarily on “long distances” from 1 mile to the marathon (and beyond).
We typically compete in the Mid-Atlantic region, though our members have been seen all around the world donning our signature blue singlets.
In response to the pandemic, all F and M Track Club running activities are considered OPTIONAL until further notice.
Please be aware the club has developed the following guidelines to assist with gathering and operating as safely as possible during these times. Additionally, we strongly encourage adhering to these extra guidelines as well:
- Pacing groups of 6 or less people on the track
- Post-run hangouts will occur away from the main entrance of the track
- 6 feet social distancing and/or mask wearing while gathered in groups and not running is highly encouraged
Saturdays: 7AM meet up at the F&M campus track parking lot
Please know there is no pressure or penalty for choosing the stay home or running at alternative venues until you’re comfortable returning. We want everyone to feel safe and make the right decisions for them. In support of this, other local public access tracks include: Ephrata HS, Lampeter-Strasburg HS, Warwick HS.
As always, non-F&M track workout check-ins are appreciated so your efforts can be accounted for in the club log. Stay well, everyone—and we look forward to things returning to normal.
