A smaller crowd last night as many of our runners were no doubt still returning to town or basking in their post-Boston glow. Those in attendance were met with a stiff breeze but an otherwise lovely evening. The male runners all appeared a bit taller and moved with a lightness of foot, as their collective monkey was finally removed! Big thanks Running Ryan for slaying our 2:30 monster! The Monkey is dead – long live the monkey. Checking the club records it now looks like 2:25 for men, and 2:45 for women is the new standard. Who’s up?
Most were on the track last evening doing some shorter speed-focused workouts. Those I ran with were conversing about the “new” Red Rose course, its pending USATF certification may lengthen it just a tad – yeah! Post-workout, Jay, Dan, and Denise shared some Boston memories. Dan was awarded a “special return” Sam Adams Lager noting his completion of 10 consecutive Boston Marathons (14 total !). Mike Wege is also now in the 10-consecutive Boston “club” as is Jeff.
Monday’s data is below – ALL of our runners re-qualified for next year thus earning the privilege to return and challenge this iconic course one more time!
