The Boston countdown is on! Last night the mood was a bit like a junior high dance – nervous excitement and pent-up energy eager to get the party started. The morning crew got things started with the tune-up 400s, their efforts were followed by the evening group with more 400s, mile repeats, two-mile repeats, and 3-mile tempos. All should suffice for a pre-race workout. The talk centered around whether one is fit or not, the proper timing of the last long effort (Lyle), pace strategy, and the weather forecast. How much risk should one take, splits at the half, and predicted order of finish among club members (Peter W is a wild card here as his status is unknown). The general consensus that I overheard, included a smorgasbord of options, and we’ll just have to wait and see once everyone crosses the line.
I don’t have a list of all of Monday’s participants… but look for it in Jeff’s next email. We have 20+ in.
