Not sure how to start this wrap-up but to say first thanks to the Newcomers for saving the first club gathering of the year by connecting us with the Lancaster Elks Club after a major “DNS” by Cullen and the crew at Cartel (still no word on what happened).
Our AM runners got things off to a solid start with the 400s all in the low 90’s (AG – 70s) bolstered by excellent Phil G pacing and encouragement with each one. A solid turnout for the PM track session on a rainy but relatively warm evening. Many of our evening runners who are racing this weekend also did the 6 x 400m/400m – while others per STRAVA include 2 x 1 mile, 2 x 800, 2 x 400. Tracy and I arrived at Cartel at 6:55 with 12 large Rosa Rosa Pizzas and were greeted there by Amos, Elam, and Souhail – and a closed Cartel Brewing. After some rapid discussion about alternatives including Tellus and our city home, a quick phone call on the part of Bob Newcomer secured a site at the Lancaster Elks Club on North Duke Street and a memorable FMTC evening followed. Thanks to all of you who made the effort to get there and participate and take in good fun at my Boston wrap-up including the “hit hards” and “hug hards”. Thanks to Sarah for further distribution/sales of FMTC gear. Please contact her via email if you still have not picked up your order. And finally, Lyle we missed you and hoping for a quick recovery so as to get a 2023 BQ.
