March 8, 2022

A cool brisk but windless night on the track and an excellent turnout. A few of us made up the morning group and fought some headwinds on the back straight,  including speedy “Team Newcomer” (for the record they are not related – both just very fast 60+ 80% AG runners with our club).

It was great seeing many of you again and the serious approach to your respective track workouts as we head into racing season. Thanks to Jay for “holding down the fort” for the past 2 months at the track and it was also a privilege to “award” an FMTC singlet to two of our new members Cooper and Souhail (see pic) – and also Katie who thanks to strength training moved up from a 6 to an 8. But for a few runners, I did not recognize, I think the list below should be fairly inclusive. Caleb told me he is now “retired” but maybe just taking some downtime while his wrist heals. Congrats to club member Heidi Moebius who was the USATF Masters National Grand Prix champion for 2021 (80-84!). Hopefully, there was some responsible drinking and good running conversation at the Fridge. Thanks to Dan who helped me close up shop before 8 PM. DAYLIGHT savings next week.

THIS SATURDAY – The weather looks not so great / but hopefully, a few of you will go over to the Clayton loop and race (Nate?) – would like to see an FMTC win – we have had both men’s / women’s winners in past years. Consider tacking it on to your long run.
